This plant is one of the most common in Europe. It lives in very
different places. Its tree is majestic, it is since 50 m. high and
it is a long-lived plant. Its big foliage has an irregular distribution
and it is oval. The trunk is sturdy and it has a gray-brown
bark which has many longitudinal splits. This tree grows
rapdly and it has got taproot. You can see this plant
on plain and on hill: it lives wherever it is sunny, warm and
temperated. It is cold-resistent but it is not so on sprintimes.
It preferes deep, new, permeable, fertile soils while
it deads on acid/basical, humid and not solid ones.
It is since 100 m. high, as the european beech, the chestnut-tree
and other oaks.
